‘Early treatment can prevent diabetes’
LAHORE:Every person who reaches the age of 35 should get a blood test for sugar after diagnosing diabetes, it can be treated and prevented at the earliest.
The use of sugar, sweet foods and soft drinks are a major cause of high blood pressure, heart disease and blindness. Avoiding low-calorie foods, fast food, cold drinks and regular exercise play a fundamental role in keeping a person healthy and safe from obesity and diabetes. The burden of diseases in Pakistan is increasing day by day, the main reason for which is the rapid increase in diabetes, which is the root cause of diseases. These views were expressed by Professor of Medicine, King Edward Medical University and Mayo Hospital Lahore, Dr Israr-ul-Haq Toor while delivering a lecture on diabetes here.
