KARACHI: UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Saleem Al Zaabi and Consul General in Karachi Dr Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi celebrated on Monday their country’s 53rd national day by visiting students, traders and the common public.
Ambassador Al Zaabi and Consul General Karachi Dr Al Remeithi visited the Convent Jesus and Mary School in Karachi to attend a ceremony organised by the school children to mark the UAE National Day. The schoolchildren expressed their happiness by finding the two diplomats in their midst.
Furthermore, they boarded the Sindh government public buses to celebrate their national day with the passengers. The buses were especially adorned for the purpose. Both the ambassador and the consul general of Karachi distributed ‘Kehwa’ and dates among the passengers who appreciated the gesture.
Later the UAE Ambassador and Consul General visited the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and cut a cake along with the traders to celebrate the event. Talking to the trader community, Ambassador Al Zaabi applauded their services and described them as the back bone of the country.
