QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has said that there are terrorist camps present in the province, and targeted operations are being carried out to eliminate them.
He challenged those opposing the operations to provide an alternative solution to the issue of terrorism other than military action. He expressed these views while speaking to the media after the Balochistan Assembly session on Monday.
The CM further said if the political parties opposing the operation have an alternative solution to deal with terrorists who roam the streets, kidnap children, and kill Baloch, Punjabis, and security forces, should provide recommendations, and the government will act upon it.
He expressed regret over the kidnap of 10-year-old Musawar Khan. He emphasised that no government would want children to be abducted, and that his government is using all resources for his recovery.
Regarding the rumours of change in the chief minister’s office, he exprtessed his ignorance, saying he would not comment on such matters. He noted that the Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and the 65 members of the Balochistan Assembly had given him a vote of confidence, and no one had submitted any vote of no-confidence against him, which he considered an honour. He reiterated that he would continue to serve the province as long as the opportunity was available.
