ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Monday delisted the cases, fixed for hearing on November 26, including the one related to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) financial matters, in view of the law and order and road blockade.
“It is circulated for information of the general public and litigants that the following cases fixed for hearing before the Election Commission of Pakistan on 26.11.2024 have been delisted due to on-going law and order situation and blockage of road in the capital territory,” a statement issued by the ECP said.
The ECP said that the next date of hearing will be announced later. The ECP has already issued notice to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and then secretary general Omar Ayub Khan regarding the case on consolidated statement of accounts of PTI for the financial year 2023-24.
The other two cases that were to be taken up for preliminary hearing, and now have also been delisted include ‘Abdul Hakeem Baloch versus Khalid Mahmood’ and ‘Mirza Ikhtiar Baig versus Khurram Sher Zaman’ with regards to transfer of petition/application.
Apparently, it is quite likely that the cases of different nature, listed for hearing on November 27 and November 28 are also expected to be delisted, if the present situation persisted in the federal capital.
