LAHORE: The building of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Head Office Johar Town was illuminated with orange lights on Monday in connection with International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The LDA head office building will remain illuminated with orange lights for the next three days on the instructions of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq. Tahir Farooq said that the purpose of illuminating the office in orange was to be the part of an awareness campaign to end violence against women. The role of women in social development was very important, he said adding no society can develop without ending violence against women. It may be noted that a special campaign to end violence against women was being run worldwide from November 25 to December 10.
