Child’s death in hospital manhole AMS, four employees suspended

LAHORE:Taking action on an incident of a child falling into a sewer at Children's Hospital Lahore (CHL), the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHC&MED) has suspended Additional Medical Superintendent (Maintenance) and four lower-cadre employees for laxity in discharging their responsibilities, resulting the death of a child.
The department suspended the services of Dr M Nasim Baig, APMO/AMS (Maintenance) and four junior employees - Sanitary Supervisor Faisal Atta, Sub-Engineer Furqan Javed, sewer men Waris Masih and Motious Masih - on account of misconduct and inefficiency under PEEDA Act 2006, and directed them to report to the dept. However, the police have not registered an FIR so far.
