KMU conducts 2nd Professional MBBS e-exam

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Medical University (KMU) has successfully conducted the 2nd Professional MBBS examination through an innovative intra-net-based system.

A press release on Monday said that this transformative initiative was a step forward in modernising medical education and strengthening assessment standards across the region.A total of 1,201 students from across the province participated in the said exam in four e-exam centres, including KMU Centre, Peshawar, where 726 students of KMC, KGMC, PIMC, JMC and MCM appeared.

Similarly, 98 students in Rehman Medical College centre, 148 in Northwest School of Medicine, 108 in Gomal Medical College, Dera Ismail Khan, and 121 students at the Khyber Institute of Medical Sciences, Kohat, participated in the said MBBS 2nd prof e-exam.

It is worth mentioning that KMU’s e-exam platform brings numerous advantages to medical education, which include efficiency on the top. Students focus on one question at a time, ensuring better concentration, with results delivered promptly.

Second, this system ensures accessibility which allows students to take exams at any designated centre, reducing logistical challenges, while the system also ensures environmental sustainability by reducing paper usage, the initiative promotes eco-friendly practices.

The new system safeguards 100 percent transparency as the digital format ensures fairness and minimises errors.Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ziaul Haq expressed satisfaction with the successful implementation of the e-exam system.

He emphasised that this effort highlighted KMU’s commitment to advancing medical education not only within KP but also as a benchmark for institutions across Pakistan.“This success was the result of teamwork and dedication. Departments including IHPE&R, Exams, IT, Registrar, Academics, Finance, Procurement, Audit, Admin, P&D, and all heads of departments played a pivotal role.,” he said and extended his gratitude to the entire staff.

He said the successful conduction of the 2nd Prof MBBS e-exam marked a significant step in KMU’s mission to innovate and raise the bar in medical education, setting new standards for transparency, accessibility, and environmental sustainability.
