BD down SL, Nepal upset Afghans
LAHORE: The Bengal Tigers managed to halt the unbeaten streak of Sri Lanka in the Fourth Blind Cricket World Cup on Monday.
On the third day of the mega event, at Bagh-e-Jinnah Cricket Ground, Sri Lanka won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first. Bangladesh scored 167 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs with Ashiqur Rahman scoring 42 and Mohammad Salman 36.
In response, Sri Lanka managed to score 142 for 7 wickets in the allotted overs. Skipper Chandana Deshapriya scored 56 while Dimith Sandaruwan made 21. Mahidul Islam took 3 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs, and Arif Hossain took 2 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs.
Pakistan received a walk-over against India. At Ghani Institute Ground, Nepal secured a massive 108-run victory against Afghanistan. Afghanistan won the toss and invited Nepal to bat. Nepal's batters performed brilliantly, scoring 228 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Afghanistan managed to score 120 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
