Edibles’ rates surge as roadblocks disrupt supply chain

LAHORE : Roadblocks and restrictions at entry and exist points to Lahore and other cities resulted in an increase in the rates of all vegetables and fruits and vegetables supplies were also suspended to the provincial metropolis.

The district administration failed to control overcharging as vendors and shopkeepers continued flouting official rate lists by selling edibles at their own rates. This week mainly increasing trend in the prices of perishable was recorded as majority of vegetables gained high rates.

The price of chicken further reduced by Rs15 per kg, and fixed at Rs314-328 per kg, sold at Rs400-430 per kg and chicken meat by Rs22 per kg, fixed at Rs475 per kg, and sold Rs500-800 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin A-grade was further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs127-135 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade at Rs113-120 per kg and C-grade at Rs95-100 per kg, mixed sold at Rs160 per kg, sugar free A-grade gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg, B-grade at Rs75-80 per kg, and C-grade at Rs65-70 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs120 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade surged by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs135-145 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs117-125 per kg, and C-grade by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs100-105 per kg, mixed sold at Rs140-150 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs170-180 per kg, sold at Rs300-320 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs150-160 per kg, and C-grade at Rs130-140 kg, mixed sold at Rs240-260 per kg.

The price of garlic local further increased by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs450-470 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic Harnai unchanged at Rs430-450 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic GI variety increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs280-295 per kg, sold at Rs400-420 per kg and Garlic China reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs650-670 per kg, sold at Rs1000 per kg.

The price of both Ginger Thai and Chinese was further reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs455-475 per kg, both sold at Rs600-800 per kg.

Cucumber Farm further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg, and cucumber local by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs67-70 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg.

Brinjal price was unchanged at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

Biter gourd unchanged at Rs86-90 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg.

The price Spinach declined by Rs6 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 at Rs80-100 per kg.

Zucchini local further declined by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs86-90 per kg, not sold, Zucchini farm gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at 57-60 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg, and Zucchini long by Rs5 per kg fixed at Rs33-35 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg.

Pumpkin was gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg.

The lemon Chinese was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs60-65 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg.

Green chili A grade was unchanged at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, Grene chili B-grade reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 kg, sold at Rs200 per kg. Capsicum price was further declined surged by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs175-180 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg.

Price of cauliflower was surged by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg, cabbage unchanged at Rs57-60 per kg, sold Rs100-120 per kg.

Carrot Chinese unchanged at Rs135-140 per kg, sold at Rs280-300 per kg, carrot local reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg.

Arum was further reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.

Ladyfinger also gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg.

Lufa price was reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs72-75 per kg, not sold.

Turnip was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs100-140 per kg.

Fenugreek (Methi) reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg.

Pea price was further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg.

Beetroot was sold at Rs200-250 per kg.

Coriander was sold at Rs30 per bundle.

Sweet Pumpkin reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

Radish was unchanged at Rs18-20 per kg, sold at Rs30-50 per kg.

The price of Banana A-category reduced by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs115-120 per dozen, sold at Rs160-180 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs76-80 per dozen, sold at Rs130-140 per dozen, and C-category gained by Rs5 per dozen, fixed at Rs57-60 per dozen, sold at Rs100-120 per dozen.

Pomegranate danaydar declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs320-335 per kg, sold at Rs450 per kg, pomegranate kandahari gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs190-295 per kg, sold at Rs250-400, pomegranate Bedana unchanged at Rs490-510 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg.

Dates were reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs420-430 per kg, sold at Rs600 to 1400 per kg.

Papaya reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs230-245 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg.

Grapes Sunderkhani gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs300-315 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 per kg, grapes gola declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg, grapes tofi fixed at Rs230-240, sold at Rs400-500 per kg.

Guava was unchanged at Rs60-85 per kg, sold at Rs100-150 per kg.

Musami was gained by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs80-115 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen.

Grapefruit was fixed at Rs22-24 per piece, sold at Rs30-40 per piece.

Corn was fixed at Rs26-28 per kg, sold at Rs50-60 per kg.

Sweet potato was fixed at Rs80-85 per kg, sold at Rs100-150 per kg.

Waternut was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs100-130 per kg.
