Imports from Saudi Arabia decline 10pc

ISLAMABAD: During the current fiscal year, Pakistan’s imports from Saudi Arabia have seen a decline, while the country’s dependence on Iran for imports has further increased.

According to government sources, a huge decrease of 69 percent in imports from Saudi Arabia

on an annual basis was witnessed in October, while a 10 percent decrease was recorded in the imports from Saudi Arabia on an annual basis in July-October 2024.

The sources added that imports from Iran increased by 30 percent on an annual basis in July-October 2024, while imports from Iran increased by 10 percent on an annual basis in October 2024. Imports from Saudi Arabia in the first four months of the fiscal year were $1.3439 billion, while imports from Saudi Arabia in the same period last year were $1.50 billion.

In October 2024, the volume of imports from Saudi Arabia was $168.2 million, while in October 2023,

imports from Saudi Arabia were $534.7 million.

Imports from Iran in the first four months of the fiscal year were $403.5 million. In the same period last year, imports from Iran were $309.6 million.
