PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Friday said that the Federal and Punjab governments were closing the motorways and highways ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest out of frustration.
“The closure of roads, hotels and terminals shows the federal government is in a state of fear and confusion,” he said in a statement in his reaction to reports about the closure of various arteries ahead of PTI’s November 24 protest.
The chief minister said though they were finalizing the arrangements for the protest, the federal government had made their proposed protest a success in advance by blocking roads.“We are going to hold a peaceful protest but the government is creating problems for the people by closing roads,” he said, adding the incarcerated leader – Imran Khan -- had unnerved the rulers through his protest call. Gandapur said the government was troubling the common people by closing roads and restricting their movements.
