Pindi police grill Imran in Sept 28 case
Team of investigators led by Inspector Rashid Kiani questioned Imran regarding case, say Adiala jail sources
RAWALPINDI: The New Town police have initiated investigation of former prime minister Imran Khan of a case registered under Anti-Terrorism Act against him on September 28 this year.
Authorities have designated the PTI founder chairman’s cell in prison as an official extension of New Town Police Station. Security for the cell remains under the control of Rawalpindi police.
A team of investigators led by Inspector Rashid Kiani questioned Imran regarding the case, Adiala jail sources said.
The investigating officer visited Adiala Jail with his team at 3:45pm on Friday to conduct the interrogation.
After spending four and a half hours, the officer completed the initial phase of questioning and departed. The PTI founder is currently in police custody under a five-day physical remand.
All further investigative proceedings would be conducted within on the jail premises.
