Alvi urges PTI workers to attend Islamabad protest

PESHAWAR: Former president Dr Arif Alvi on Friday urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers to ensure their participation in the November 24 protest, saying Imran Khan was fighting for the real freedom, rule of law and restoration of democracy.

He was addressing the convention of workers in Peshawar, which was organised by former provincial minister and PTI’s regional general secretary Kamran Bangash in his constituency PK-82.

Alvi said Imran Khan was living in the hearts of his millions of followers, saying they would never leave him alone in the struggle that he had launched for the better future of the nation.

Former provincial ministers including Kamran Bangash and Taimur Jhagra, MNA Asif Khan and the party leaders, Gul Badshah

and others addressed the convention.

Alvi said he was impressed by the dedication and commitment of the party workers and hoped they would participate in the November 24 long march

and sit-in at D Chowk in Islamabad.

He said Imran Khan had been kept in jail as he was struggling for the rights of the people, for their real freedom, restoration of democracy and rule of law.

The former president appreciated Kamran Bangash for his efforts to organise the convention.

He said he would be happy to see them in the long march and sit-in in Islamabad for the release of their leader.He criticised the government for cracking down on the PTI workers.
