Importance of reporting crimes highlighted

LAHORE : DIG (Operations) Muhammad Faisal Kamran Friday said reporting crimes is crucial to combat them.

Conducting an open court session at Jamia Masjid Khizra, Samanabad, the DIG said the primary aim of interacting with citizens is to remove their fears and ensuring them that the police are available to address their concerns at their doorstep.

SP Iqbal Town Bilal Ahmed, SDPO Muslim Town, and other officers attended the open court.

The DIG listened to the citizens’ grievances and issued directives for their solution on the spot.

He reiterated that Lahore Police is addressing social and communal issues of citizens at their doorsteps.

He encouraged citizens to voice their concerns fearlessly during these sessions, saying his office is open to address grievances of victims.

1.32kg hashish recovered from drug peddler

New Anarkali police Friday arrested a drug peddler.

The police detained accused Shafiq alias Bata and recovered 1.32 kg hashish from his possession.

Meanwhile, Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate police detained suspect identified as Shaharyar for making a false robbery call.

The Dolphin Squad rounded up 168 criminals, including 59 individuals with prior criminal records, 47 habitual offenders, and 21 court absconders during the past 72 hours.

The Dolphin Squad also detained accused Malik Shah in Shahdara area on charges of opening fire at Rizwan, Abbas, Ali, and Imran over a petty issue. Ghaziabad police arrested drug peddler Usman and recovered 12kg opium from him.

Multan Park police rounded up suspects Shahbaz and Zaman and recovered 31 kg hashish from them.

13 die on road in 24 hours

Around 13 people died and 1,518 others injured in 1,453 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Around 622 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 896 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the Rescue medical teams.

Missing boy reunited with family

Liaqatabad police Friday reunited a 14-year-old boy with his family.

David went missing from the old vegetable market four days back and his father registered a kidnapping case with Kot Lakhpat police.

Reportedly, David left his home without informing anybody when his father scolded him over an issue.
