A woman from Kashmore, Gul Shana, wife of Laghari Khan, who was arrested at the Karachi airport on her arrival from Saudi Arabia, has disclosed her involvement in beggary in Makkah for over two-and-half months.
During her investigation at the Immigration Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency, she informed the investigators that she went to Saudia Arabia from Karachi onboard flight G-9543 based on an Umrah visa on September 7.
She told the FIA officials that she had stayed with her Saudi Arabia-based sister and started begging around the Masjid al-Haram daily. According to her, during her stay in Saudi Arabia, she saw many people around her who didn’t do any work.
Anyone involved in beggary could earn on average up to 100 riyals daily and this amount could be doubled sometimes. Gul Shana, who is a native of the village of Nabi Bux Asjo, was stopped at the immigration counter when she arrived at the Karachi airport on board flight No. XY-313 the other day.
She failed to give satisfactory replies to the questions asked at the immigration counter of the airport regarding her stay in Saudi Arabia for two and a half months. She made the lamentable disclosure that she went to Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa and stayed there for two-and-a-half months. She went to the Majisd al-Haram every day but didn’t perform a single Umrah. She failed to correctly answer questions regarding rituals. She was shifted to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle.
