The vigilance team of the Sindh Food Authority led by Food Safety Officer Mehboob Bhatti inspected a warehouse located in Mehran Town, District Korangi, and identified serious breaches of food safety regulations.

During the inspection, large quantities of expired raw materials were discovered, including chocolate flavor (15 liters), vanilla flavor (25 liters), cocoa flavor (22 liters), cheese flavor (25 liters), mango flavor (10 liters), orange flavor (15 liters), pista flavor (10 liters), pineapple flavor (15 liters), peach flavor (15 liters), and strawberry flavor (20 liters).

Expired poly sucralose weighing 125kg and expired Fructodan weighing 75kg were also found on the premises. Additionally, short-expiry products were improperly stored alongside fresh items, and tampering of manufacturing and expiry dates was observed on food products. The inspection revealed damaged products and a lack of pest management in the warehouse, further endangering food safety standards.

In response to these violations, the Sindh Food Authority discarded all expired food items on the spot. The warehouse was sealed, and a penalty of Rs500,000 was imposed on the owner for failing to comply with food safety regulations. The authority reiterates its commitment to protecting public health and warns all businesses to adhere strictly to food safety laws to avoid strict action.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Food Authority team led by Ammara Fared, accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner Aziz Ahmed Kalhoro, conducted inspections of various hotels and dairies in the Moro city. During the inspections, it was revealed that some hotels were using chemically adulterated milk. The team took immediate action, sealing two hotels and imposing heavy fines.

Director General Sindh Food Authority Muzamil Hussain Halepoto stated that adulteration in food and beverages will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict action will continue against those involved.
