ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain has stressed the urgent need to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to improve agricultural productivity and food security in Pakistan.
Speaking Thursday at the launch of SDGs Impact Framework Report, organized by Fatima Fertilizer in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the minister called for unified efforts to ensure a sustainable future for the nation.
“It is a great honour to witness the launch of this report by Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, aligning its corporate practices with the United Nations’ SDGs,” said Tanveer Hussain. “This event underscores our shared commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship,” he added.
The minister lauded Fatima Fertilizer for pioneering the adoption of the SDG Impact Framework in collaboration with UNDP. He called for coordinated actions to address challenges such as policy continuity, social inequality, and climate change, underscoring the private sector’s critical role in advancing societal and economic progress through SDGs.
