PSMA’s regional body questions chairman’s election
Election process was completed on Sept 30, 2024 and it is mandatory to constitute a new election commission under rules
ISLAMABAD: Contradictory stance of the election commission appointed for the elections of Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) for 2024-26 has come to surface, said the association’s regional executive committee
It said that according to first stance, the election process was completed on September 30, 2024 and it is mandatory to constitute a new election commission under the rules.
The committee said that while the very next day, the same election commission, under an illegal election schedule, declared Abbas Sarfaraz Khan as elected chairman of the association without even fulfilling the requirement of becoming a member of executive committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
It may be noted that the majority members of the executive committee of the association have filed an appeal before the notified cabinet committee against the decision of the DGTO dated November 15, 2024.
