Prof Dr M Raza Shah, a senior professor at the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at Karachi University, has been elected as a fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), based in Trieste, Italy.
A spokesperson for the ICCBS announced on Wednesday that Prof Shah had been honoured with this prestigious fellowship in recognition of his exceptional contributions to Nanomedicine and Supramolecular Chemistry.
“The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is a merit-based institution established in 1983, comprising over 1,400 scientists from more than 100 countries. Several Nobel Laureates are fellows and actively participate in TWAS activities,” the spokesperson said.
Prof Shah was recently appointed as a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the WHO International Traditional Medicine Clinical Trial Registry. Additionally, he received the prestigious Iranian Khwarizmi International Award from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of Iran, earning the title of Khwarizmi International Laureate.
He had made significant advancements in Nanomedicine and Supramolecular Chemistry.
He had authored six books and edited four books published by Elsevier, contributed nine chapters to books, and published over 500 research articles in international journals, with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 1,700 and an H-index of 52. His contributions also included three US patents and the supervision or co-supervision of 40 PhD and 50 MS/MPhil scholars.
