The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) continues operations across the province to ensure food safety and quality.

According to a statement issued by the authority, in various actions carried out in Hyderabad, Larkana and Sanghar, multiple violations of food safety laws were identified, leading to penalties, product seizures and plant closures.

In Hyderabad, a team led by Food Safety Officer Ishfa Zahid confiscated 250 kilogrammes of monosodium glutamate (MSG) during inspections. Heavy fines exceeding Rs200,000 were imposed on violators for selling harmful substances.

Meanwhile, in Larkana and Bakrani, a team led by Food Safety Officer Muhammad Ali Soomro seized 350 litres of chemically adulterated milk during a crackdown on dairy shops. One shop was sealed, and fines totaling Rs60,000 were imposed for violating food safety regulations.

In Sanghar, the SFA conducted inspections of RO plants in Tando Adam and Jhol. Findings revealed severe non-compliance with safety protocols. Filters were found completely blackened and vessels were leaking while pH level was recorded at 7.8 with no proper waste management system in place.

The plants also lacked medical certifications for their staff. As a result, three RO plants were temporarily shut down, and fines were imposed.

SFA Director General Muzamil Hussain Halepoto reaffirmed that strict action was being taken across the province to eliminate substandard food and ensure public safety.

Citizens were encouraged to report any food-related complaints directly to the authority via WhatsApp number 0330-0116553.
