The increasing number of fruit and vegetable sellers setting up stalls on the roadsides is causing significant traffic disruptions in the Malir area of Karachi. This issue is escalating and I believe it requires immediate attention from both the authorities and the community. These stalls, while convenient for pedestrians, are set up haphazardly along major roads, forcing vehicles to navigate through congested spaces. As a result, the traffic flow in Malir has been severely impacted, especially during peak hours.
The constant honking, delays, and potential safety hazards are causing great frustration to commuters and residents alike. Moreover, emergency vehicles often find it difficult to pass through these crowded roads, posing a danger to public safety. To address this issue, I suggest the local authorities designate specific areas or markets for these vendors, away from the main roads. This would help regulate traffic while still supporting the livelihood of the sellers.
