Additional commissioner arrested on murder charge
PESHAWAR: An additional commissioner allegedly shot dead a man in front of his family on the main University Road close to Customs House on Thursday.
The accused Irfan Ullah, an additional commissioner in the Inland Revenue, was arrested by the University Town Police after he was seen in a video carrying a weapon close to a young man lying in a pool of blood.
Police said the deceased Abdul Rehman was shot dead in front of his family in his car. The incident happened close to the office of the Federal Board of Revenue on University Road.The alleged murderer was seen brandishing his gun on the main road close to the body of the deceased when his children and wife were crying for help. It was being investigated as to what was the motive behind the murder.Police officials said both the accused and the victim knew each other and probably had some money dispute.
