13th convocation: City University awards degrees to 1,158 graduates
PESHAWAR: A total of 1,158 graduates from Fall 19’ to Spring 24’ were conferred degrees on Thursday at the 13th Convocation ceremony of the City University of Science and Information Technology (CUSIT) Peshawar.
As many as 51 students graduated from Civil Engineering Department, 37 from Electrical Engineering Department, 19 from Department of Mathematics, 277 from Department of Computer Science, 206 from Department of Management Sciences, 45 from Department of Architecture, 65 from Department of Technology, 164 from Department of Health Sciences and 294 graduated from the Department of English.
KP Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry was the chief guest on the occasion.He reminded the graduates of what the university had imparted to them. “You are indebted to your university and you must give back and spread the good. The CUSIT is ensuring the provision of research in higher education which directly plays a vital role in the nation’s development and economy”, he said.
The senior officer added that the varsity had made efforts in the research sector because of its strong faculty and conducive environment.He called for further promotion of research culture at the university level and assured full support from the KP government in this regard.
CUSIT President Mohammad Sabur Sethi extended his gratitude to the chief guest. He reiterated the resolve of the CUSIT to keep the standard of quality of education it imparts as high as possible.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasrullah Khan said since the time he had taken charge, his foremost priority had been both academic and research activities in the institute.
Sharing glimpses of their experiences at the university throughout the years they spent at the CUSIT, representatives of the students thanked all their teachers while giving them all the credit for their success.Apart from degrees, 29 gold medals were awarded to the excelling graduates.
