American girl marries Chitrali youth

PESHAWAR: An 18-year-old American girl has married a youth after both developed understanding in popular online game.

Flores Sarah fell in love with a 23-year-old Shahadat Hussain from Chitral during their interaction in the popular online game, PUBG.

Sarah and Shahadat, who hails from Mroi village in Lower Chitral, met three years ago during a PUBG session and have been gaming as partners ever since. This week, Sarah, accompanied by her mother, traveled to Lower Chitral, where the couple's wedding was held with great festivity at a private hotel.

The wedding was celebrated in a traditional manner, with Sarah dressed in a customary bridal outfit.

Guests from Shahadat’s village and far-off areas attended the ceremony, making it a grand affair.

The marriage ceremony was solemnized by Maulana Khaleequz Zaman, the Khateeb of Shahi Mosque Chitral.

"The nikah was conducted with the consent of the bride and in the presence of her mother. Since the name 'Sarah' was already part of her identity, no changes were made to her name," he said.
