PESHAWAR: The people on Thursday highlighted their issues at an e-khuli kutchehry which was organised by the Energy and Power Department in light of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s policy of bringing transparency in the administrative institutional affairs and prompt resolution of public problems.
Secretary Power Nisar Ahmed and other officials concerned were present on the occasion.The complainants drew the attention of the authorities towards the plight of 38 contract employees of the Pedos’s Shishi Powerhouse. They said that the employees had been serving the organisation for the last 20 years but were yet to be regularised.
Secretary Energy Nisar Ahmad assured to raise the issue of contract employees in the Pedo’s policy board meeting soon.Similarly, few employees of KPOGCL also complained about their problems and verification of educational data. The secretary asked the CEO of the organisation to prepare a plan of action and submit a report in order to resolve the issues.
Moreover, a person from Swabi district proposed to establish a local office of the electric inspectorate in the district for immediate solution to the problems of overbilling. Speaking on the occasion, the energy secretary said that holding such a forum was a good initiative of the present provincial government.
“It will bridge the gap between institutions and people,” he added.He urged all the officers of the department to take the exemplary measures of the government seriously to facilitate the people.
