LAHORE:In an effort to provide top-tier sanitation services across all towns of the city, the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) initiated a comprehensive cleaning operation here on Thursday.
LWMC officers and workers were actively engaged in the field. During a surprise inspection in various areas, LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din assessed the attendance and cleaning arrangements of the workers.
As a result of poor cleaning arrangements, Zonal Officer Khawaja Usman and Supervisor Frayad were issued warning notices. CEO Babar Sahib Din directed that small piles of debris in service lanes be cleared immediately and emphasised the importance of manual sweeping on both main roads and service lanes.
He visited Firdous Market, Medina Colony, and Gulbahar Colony, 7up Phatak, Gromangat Road, Noor Jahan Road, MM Alam Road, Alizeb Road, Hail Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg, College Road, and Ghalib Road. CEO Babar Sahib Din emphasised that providing a clean environment for citizens remains the top priority. He urged the public to support LWMC teams by disposing of garbage in dustbins or handing it over to sanitary workers. For cleanliness-related complaints and suggestions, citizens are encouraged to contact the LWMC helpline at 1139 or reach out via social media.
