LDA seals 182 properties over default

LAHORE:Lahore Development Authority (LDA) teams conducted operation against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters and sealed 182 properties in different areas, including Gulberg, Model Town Extension, Sabzaazar, Johar Town, New Muslim Town and around Canal Road.

The properties sealed included private banks, workshops, schools, bakeries, pharmacies, offices, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, grocery stores, salons, shops, etc. Several notices were given to these properties before the operation.

LDA teams conducted another operation against encroachments on LDA-owned properties in different blocks of Sabzazar and Johar Town. Director Housing Four Yawar Bashir Virk conducted an operation in the vicinity of F, D, E Blocks and Civic Centre in Sabzazar Scheme. LDA teams removed slums, cattle and encroachments from LDA land. They also conducted an operation in R and N blocks of Johar Town. Director Housing Seven Moazzam Rashid conducted an operation in Johar Town. Slums and temporary encroachments were removed from LDA-owned properties.

Meanwhile, to provide residential plots to citizens in easy installments, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has started collecting applications through LDA mobile app and website. Applications for this draw can also be submitted at LDA Citizen Facilitation Centre physically. The draw for the plots will be held on December 30 at the LDA Sports Complex, Johar Town.

In the draw, the price per marla of a five-marla plot in Johar Town R-2 Block has been fixed at Rs2.5 million and a non-refundable application fee of Rs20,000. The price per marla of a seven-marla plot in Jubilee Town D Block has been fixed at Rs1.5 million and a non-refundable application fee of Rs15,000 while the price per marla of a five-marla plot in Tajpura E Block has been fixed at Rs2 million and a non-refundable application fee of Rs10,000.

Residential plots of five marla and seven marla have been put up for auction. The last date for submitting forms to participate in the draw was December 25. LDA DG Tahir Farooq said that the LDA was drawing lots for 90 residential plots in the first phase. Citizens will be able to buy residential plots in Johar Town R-2 Block, Jubilee Town D Block and Tajpura E Block through the draw. Citizens can pay in equal easy instalments in three years. This was a golden opportunity for citizens to get a fully developed plot at today's price on a three-year payment plan, DG maintained.
