LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has asserted that while the “Fitna Party” may have plans A, B, and C, the state has plans from A to Z to handle any situation.

She disclosed that Ali Amin Gandapur had allegedly distributed Rs400,000 each to PTI MNAs and MPAs for the upcoming protest on November 24. Additionally, she claimed that Rs810 million were spent on the PTI rally in Islamabad, questioning whether any court or institution would inquire about sources of funding for such events.

Speaking to the media during her appearance at the Lahore High Court, Bokhari said, “I am waiting for the day when the main accused in the fake video case is arrested. The woman linked to spreading the fake video has a husband who owns SIM franchises, and these SIMs are being used to propagate false narratives against others.”

She further shared that the Lahore High Court had rejected the bail plea of a suspect from Gujrat, who is accused of creating three fake accounts to spread the fabricated video. The accused, a welder, reportedly admitted during the investigation to posting the video and is allegedly part of PTI’s propaganda cell.

The minister said, “I pray for the day when justice is fully served in this country. I am satisfied that the chief justice has recognised the seriousness of the issue. I demand the immediate arrest of the mastermind behind this incident.”

She emphasised the need for better regulation of social media in Pakistan and called for strengthening the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

“It is high time social media platforms in Pakistan were regulated, and the FIA’s capacity to tackle cybercrime was enhanced,” she said.

Bokhari also criticised the Peshawar High Court, accusing it of facilitating the protection of individuals allegedly involved in terrorism.

She said, “Funds that should be spent on the welfare of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are being misused for protests and rallies.”

Addressing the PTI, she stated, “Those waging a jihad against the state should know we are fully prepared to deal with them. If they have plans A, B, and C, the state has plans A to Z.” In a concluding remark directed at PTI leader Aleema Khan, she said, “Aleema Khan should focus on preparing for the protest instead of trying to become a heroine.”
