ISLAMABAD: Imports from India have increased for the fourth time in the first eight months of the Shehbaz Sharif government.
According to government sources, an increase in imports from India was recorded for the third consecutive month in October of this financial year.
In October 2024, imports from India hiked by 46 percent year-on-year.
In the last month, volume of imports from India was $35.8 million. In October 2023, imports from India stood at $2.45 million. In September 2024, imports had increased by 45 percent on a year-on-year basis. In August 2024, imports were up 5pc. Imports from India also increased in January-March 2024 and in February-May 2023. Pakistan had suspended trade with India in August 2019 but later eased its trade with India.
