PINS, Italian institute to exchange trainee doctors
LAHORE : Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) and the Neurosurgical Institutes of Italy signed a historic agreement under which mutual exchange programmes for postgraduate trainee doctors of both institutions will be organised.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) President Prof Franco Savordi and PINS Executive Director Prof Dr Asif Bashir on Wednesday.
The aim of this agreement is to promote research cooperation between the two countries and provide world-class training opportunities to young neurosurgeons of Pakistan.
Experts termed this important step a milestone for the medical sector of both countries. Speaking at the occasion, Prof Asif Bashir said, “We are providing the best training opportunities to our young neurosurgeons around the world so that our patients can get the latest and most effective treatment.
This agreement will further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of neurosurgery which will not only enhance the skills of our doctors but also provide the patients with the latest medical facilities.”
