ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cybercrime Circle Islamabad has arrested two individuals allegedly involved in creating and distributing explicit content featuring minors on social media.
The suspects, identified as Usman and Abdul Muiz, were apprehended during a raid in the capital. According to FIA officials, the suspects were engaged in the sexual exploitation of minors, creating and disseminating objectionable videos and images online. The content was also reportedly used to harass the victims.
During the operation, authorities recovered explicit material from the suspects’ mobile phones, which has secured as evidence.
The arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown by the FIA against child exploitation and online abuse. The agency is committed to countering such heinous crimes through enhanced monitoring of digital platforms and swift action against offenders.
“Protecting minors from online predators is our top priority. We are expanding our efforts to track and apprehend individuals involved in such criminal activities,” an FIA spokesperson stated.
The FIA has urged citizens to report any suspicious online activity involving children to its Cybercrime Reporting Centers, emphasizing the importance of public vigilance in curbing such crimes.
The case highlights the growing challenge of combating child exploitation in the digital age, where offenders exploit technology to target vulnerable individuals. In response, the FIA has been intensifying its operations, leveraging advanced tools to identify and apprehend perpetrators.
