Islamabad : The Health Services Academy (HSA) has achieved a significant milestone by successfully conducting large-scale screening tests for key health sector institutions, including the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad, Federal Medical College (FMC), Federal Government Polyclinic, and the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM).

The two-phase recruitment process, comprising typing and written tests was completed after three months of meticulous planning and execution. The initiative underscored HSA’s commitment to transparent and efficient recruitment practices, setting a benchmark in Pakistan’s health sector. HSA reached out to over 100,000 candidates nationwide, with 48,000 undergoing additional typing and shorthand evaluations. To facilitate this, a state-of-the-art computer lab with 250 workstations was established, ensuring precision and accuracy under expert supervision.

Speaking about the achievement, Chief Examiner and Director of Quality Assurance, Nadeem Sajjad Kayani, expressed gratitude to the teams involved. “This monumental task was possible due to the seamless collaboration and dedication of our teams. I also thank the Secretary of Health, HSA Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan, and other institutional heads for their support,” he said. Advanced technologies, including Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) systems, were used for grading and quota-based categorisation, ensuring transparency and efficiency. The process was further supported by public sector institutions like the Police, Secretariat Training Institutes, and NIH, which contributed to maintaining security and operational efficiency.

Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan, vice chancellor of HSA, praised the Academy’s efforts, highlighting its growing role in modernising recruitment processes. "This achievement reflects HSA’s leadership in delivering high-stakes projects and its commitment to national health objectives," he noted.
