One dies as truck falls into ravine
MANSEHRA: A driver was killed and a conductor sustained injuries when a truck loaded with granite rocks fell into a ravine in the Battal area on Tuesday.
“We shifted both the injured to a nearby health facility, where doctors pronounced one of them dead,” District Emergency Officer, Rescue 1122, Abrar Ali told reporters here.
According to Rescue 1122, the truck was on its way to Mansehra from Battal when the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp turn and the vehicle plunged into a ravine.
The rescue personnel shifted the injured to a nearby health facility, where the driver, Khursheed Gul, was pronounced dead.
The helper, Saeedur Rehman, was later referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital in Abbottabad, where his condition was stated to be stable and out of danger.
