HARIPUR: A property dispute between the relatives claimed the life of an elderly woman during a scuffle involving women in a remote village of Dheenda Union Council, police officials said here on Tuesday.
Police officials quoted Amjad Iqbal, a resident of Baso Maira village as saying that his mother Bibi Zar Jan, 85, was home when the women from Nasir Khan’s home started pelting them with stones over unknown reasons. Some villagers intervened and forced the attackers to stop pelting; In the meanwhile, Saeeda Bibi, wife of Nasir Khan, entered their home carrying a club and started hitting Iqbal’s mother in the head, leaving her critically injured. The injured octogenarian was shifted to Trauma centre where the doctors pronounced her as dead. The complainant also nominated Muhammad Ehjaz, brother-in-law of the accused woman for abatement in committing the alleged murder of the elderly woman.
