ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday summoned the trust deed of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Trust’s Hospital.

A two-member bench of the apex court comprising Chief Justice Yahya Afridi adjourned for today’s (Tuesday) hearing into the bail appeal of Muhammad Saeed accused of making a fake trust deed of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan’s hospital

During the hearing counsel for the accused submitted that actions taken in the trust did not affect his client. There is no relationship, there is no signature on any document and there is no practical role. The prosecution, however, submitted that this trust was established by Dr. Abdul Qadir in his lifetime. The court was informed that Dr Qadir was angry for including other trustees including Qaiser Amin in the trust.

The court was informed that Dr Qadir in his lifetime had handed over the management of the trust to his daughter in September 2021, following which the accused established a fake trust in October 2021. The prosecution further submitted that an attempt was made to seize the hospital by creating a deed. They said the petitioner, the accused also had a role in creating the fake trust deed adding that none of the accused is providing the trust deed to the police. The court was further informed that the police now, have to recover the trust deed from the accused Muhammad Saeed.

This court adjourned the casefor today (Tuesday) after directing the counsel for the accused to produce the trust deed. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi said that if the accused does not provide the court with the trust deed, then a decision will be issued on the matter in hand.
