Islamabad : The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) held an event on ‘Palestine Issue: In the context of Iqbal’s thought’ to mark Iqbal Day, says a press release.

The event, hosted by Abid Sial and chaired by Ejaz Rahim with chief guests Dr. Jameel Asghar Jami and Dr. Shahid Iqbal Kamran, was opened by Director General Sultan Nasir, who called for solidarity with Palestinians and shared recent Academy initiatives on Palestinian issues. Ejaz Rahim emphasised Iqbal’s longstanding support for Palestine, the role of writers in societal change, and the need to confront the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Dr. Kamran pointed out the lack of support from major countries of the world to the issue of Palestine.

Dr. Jami urged writers globally to denounce Palestinian oppression. The event concluded with gratitude to the attendees.
