DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The workers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) here on Sunday staged a protest against the registration of the first information report (FIR) and raid on the residence of party’s tehsil Ameer Kafeel Ahmad Nizami.
JUIF Digital Media Committee head Engineer Maulana Zia-ur-Rehman, Kafeel Ahmad Nizami, Chaudhry Ashfaq Advocate, Qari Umair Farooqi, and others led the protesters.
Holding JUIF flags and placards, the protesters chanted slogans against the chief minister and the provincial government. They alleged that the case was registered and the raid conducted at the behest of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership.
Addressing the gathering, the JUIF leader accused Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of harassing political opponents.
However, they said the JUIF members could not be intimidated through such tactics and demanded the FIR should be withdrawn within a week.
