Increasing trend in prices of vegetables, fruits recorded

LAHORE : This week increasing trend in the prices of vegetables and fruits was recorded, whereas the district administration has failed to implement official rates, giving a free hand to the sellers to overcharge the consumers.

In some cases, the sellers are fleecing the customers as per their own rate list. Meat sellers, who rarely follow official rates, are also overcharging the consumers, exposing the bad governance and challenging the writ of the government.

The price of chicken was further reduced by Rs25 per kg, and fixed at Rs329-343 per kg, sold at Rs400-430 per kg and chicken meat by Rs36 per kg, fixed at Rs497 per kg, and sold Rs520-800 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin A-grade was fixed at Rs118-125 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg, B-grade at Rs104-110 per kg and C-grade at Rs95-100 per kg, mixed sold at Rs140 per kg, sugar free A-grade gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs120-130 per kg, B-grade at Rs70-75 per kg, and C-grade by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs60-65 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs100 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade reduced by Rs17 per kg, fixed at Rs118-125 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg, B-grade unchanged at Rs104-110 per kg, and C-grade at Rs90-95 per kg, mixed sold at Rs130-140 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade further surged by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs165-175 per kg, sold at Rs250-280 per kg, B-grade by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs145-155 per kg, and C-grade at Rs122-130 kg, mixed sold at Rs200-220 per kg.

The price of garlic local further increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs415-435 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, Garlic Harnai unchanged at Rs430-450 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic GI variety increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs265-275 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg and Garlic China gained by Rs45 per kg, fixed at Rs660-685 per kg, sold at Rs1000 per kg. The price of both Ginger Thai and Chinese was downed by Rs195 per kg, fixed at Rs460-480 per kg, both sold at Rs600 per kg.

Brinjal price was unchanged at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

Biter gourd further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs86-90 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg.

The price spinach gained fixed at Rs34-36 at Rs60-70 per kg.

Zucchini local declined by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs125-130 per kg, not sold, Zucchini farm reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at 37-40 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, and Zucchini long by Rs20 per kg fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg.

Green chili A grade was further reduced by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, Grene chili B-grade by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs100-105per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg.

Price of cauliflower was further reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg, cabbage by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold Rs100-120 per kg.

Carrot Chinese further gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs135-140 per kg, sold at Rs280-300 per kg, carrot local by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg.

Lufa price was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg,

Turnip was declined by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.

Fenugreek (Methi) unchanged at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs100-140 per kg.

Pea price was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs182-190 per kg, sold at Rs250-280 per kg.

Sweet Pumpkin reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs33-35 per kg, sold at Rs70-80 per kg.

Radish was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs18-20 per kg, sold at Rs40-50 per kg.

Saag was gained by Rs6 per kg, fixed at Rs43-46 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.

Mongray was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs125-130 per kg, sold at Rs200per kg.

The price of different variety of apples fixed at Rs90-235 per kg, sold at Rs150-400 per kg.

The price of Banana A-category gained by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs125-130 per dozen, sold at Rs160-180 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs76-80 per dozen, sold at Rs130-140 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs52-55 per dozen, sold at Rs100-120 per dozen.

Pomegranate danaydar declined by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs325-340 per kg, sold at Rs450 per kg, pomegranate kandahari was fixed at Rs175-285 per kg, sold at Rs250-400, pomegranate Bedana reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs490-510 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg.

Dates were gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs430-440 per kg, sold at Rs600 to 1400 per kg.

Papaya unchanged at Rs255-265 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg.

Grapes Sunderkhani reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs290-305 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 per kg, grapes gola declined by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs157-165 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg, grapes tofi by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs230-240, sold at Rs300-400 per kg.

Guava was declined by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs60-85 per kg, sold at Rs100-180 per kg.

Musami was unchanged at Rs75-105 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen.

Grapefruit was fixed at Rs24-26 per piece, sold at Rs30-40 per piece.

Corn was fixed at Rs26-28 per kg, sold at Rs50-60 per kg.

Persimmon was further gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs235-245 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg.

Sweet potato was unchanged at Rs86-90 per kg, sold at Rs100-150 per kg.

Waternut was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs100-130 per kg.
