LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the Life Easy Programme to provide essential assistive devices to people with disabilities.
“Ease and convenience will be provided to hearing-impaired individuals through hearing aids,” said the chief minister at the launch event.
She emphasized the project’s goal of ensuring accessibility and independence for special persons.
The chief minister said, “With a wheelchair, persons with disabilities will no longer need assistance for mobility.” Under this programme, eligible individuals can apply for wheelchairs and hearing aids. Applications can be submitted online via the Social Welfare Department’s portal (awc.punjab.gov.pk), enabling applicants to complete the process from the comfort of their homes.
Highlighting the government’s commitment, Maryam Nawaz said, “The rehabilitation of special persons is among the Punjab government’s top priorities. I want them to live lives as easy and fulfilling as others. Seeing special people happy is one of life’s greatest joys.”
A few weeks earlier, the chief minister had announced this initiative to provide assistive devices to improve the lives of persons with disabilities.
