PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Asad Qaiser has expressed concern over the constitutional crisis due to wrong policies of the federal government and said rulers undermined the institutions meant to ensure the rule of law.
Addressing a gathering at Malikabad in Swabi, he said the country was facing a constitutional crisis, adding the Constitution had been put on hold, which left no authority for either parliament or judiciary.
Asad Qaiser highlighted the call made by former prime minister Imran Khan for the nation to rise in pursuit of “true freedom”.
Asad Qaiser presented four key demands that he believed were crucial for the country’s future and restoration of democracy. The first demand was the immediate release of all “innocent” political prisoners, including Imran Khan, and abandonment of the government’s policy of political revenge. The second demand was the return of PTI’s rightful mandate which, according to Qaiser, had been unjustly taken away. He stressed that the will of the people, as expressed through free and fair elections, must be respected. The third demand put forward by the PTI leader was the immediate restoration of the rule of law and enforcement of the Constitution. He underscored the importance of re-establishing the supremacy of Constitution and judiciary to ensure accountability and justice in the country. The fourth demand was the restoration of trade relations with Afghanistan, stressing the importance of regional cooperation for economic stability.
Asad Qaiser reaffirmed PTI’s unwavering commitment to continuing the “struggle for people’s rights” and to doing everything possible to bring the country out of its current crisis. He urged the people to support the party in this fight.
