Islamabad : Pakistan has been awarded the highest international recognition for its contributions to the fight against tuberculosis.

Dr. Razia Fatima from Pakistan and Jane Carter from the United States were both honoured with the prestigious medal for their exceptional work in tuberculosis research during the opening ceremony of the World Conference on Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases in Bali, Indonesia.

The event was hosted by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, with healthcare professionals and scientists from around the world in attendance.

Dr. Razia, who has served as the Chief of Research & Surveillance and National Coordinator of the Common Management Unit at the Ministry of National Health Services, made history as the first Pakistani to receive this prestigious award for her advocacy and research in tuberculosis.
