Investiture ceremony held
Islamabad : Islamabad Model College for Girls (postgraduate), G-10/4, held a remarkable celebration to mark two significant events. The day was dedicated to recognising student’s leaders who would take on responsibilities for the academic year and to commemorate the life and contributions of Dr. Allama Iqbal, the poet, philosopher and national thinker of Pakistan.
The renowned scholar, Professor Dr. Jamil Asghar Jami, Dean, faculty of Languages, National University of Modern Languages, graced the event as the chief guest and while Principal Prof Sadia Ibrar presided this auspicious occasion.
After the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat, the oath taking ceremony commenced with the handing and taking over of the office of the students council. The newly elected members were bestowed with a badge of office, symbolizing their role and commitment to the college. They took oath led by the chief guest pledging to uphold the values of the institution, foster unity and discipline. President Rabail Salim Vice President, Fatima Habib General Secretary, Kiran Noor joint secretary Kouser Bibi and Secretaries of different societies English Kanwal Khursheed Urdu Nimra Khan, Singing Madiya, Dramatic Fiza Imran, Information Technology Jaweria Abdullah and Sports Romaisa Took their oath. The second half of the event was followed by a programme to honour Allama Iqbal, where the students presented his poetry, known for its powerful messages.
The Iqbal's concept of ‘khudi’ and ‘Taswer-e-Shaheen’ was portrayed through a collection of Iqbal's poems in group performances. A group of students also presented a tableau providing the audience with insight to his intellectual journey, his achievements and his influence on youth. The event concluded with the address of the chief guest, where he encouraged the students to follow Iqbal's teaching and take inspiration from his philosophy to shape a better future.
The investiture ceremony and Iqbal Day celebration at college served as powerful reminder of the values of leadership, patriotism and resilience. It inspired students to embrace responsibility while honouring the legacy of one of Pakistan's greatest thinkers. The event was a testament to the college's commitment to fostering future leaders who are motivated by the ideas of Iqbal. The event concluded with the recitation of National Anthem.
