Families of 20 martyred cops get cheques

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar Friday distributed cheques among families of 20 martyrs.
The IGP gave Rs1million each to two families and Rs500,000 each for 18 other families. On the occasion, the IGP said the Punjab Police Welfare Fund had given money to assist 39 families with the construction of their homes.
He also asked Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to maintain close contact with the families of martyrs in their respective districts and ensure that district police provide them with all possible assistance.
