Local lads make exit from singles

ISLAMABAD: Both players from Pakistan made exit from the boys’ singles event on Friday, losing their semi-finals against foreign opponents in the ITF Pakistan J30 World Junior Tennis Championships here at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Com-plex.
Sion Ji (Korea) had to work hard to beat Nadir Mirza 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. In the second semi-final, Xiuyuan Guo (China) beat local Muhammad Talha Khan 6-2, 6-4. Dianara Di Silava (Sri Lanka) outplayed So Yuna (Korea) 6-3, 6-4 in girls’ singles semi-final whereas Karolina Ligai (Kazakhstan) beat A Hyun Jo (Korea) 7-5, 6-1 in the second. Yeonn Joo Cha (Korea) & So Yuna (Korea) beat Haruhi Katsube (Japan) & Hinata Wada (Japan) 1-6, 7-6 (10-4) to win girls’ doubles.
