Lahore Whites, Faisalabad register victories in Quaid Trophy

LAHORE: Faisalabad defeated Larkana by 4 wickets while Lahore Whites defeated Abbottabad by 7 wickets on the third day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy cricket tournament fourth round matches.

Faisalabad was given a target of 173 runs to win against Larkana at the National Ground Islamabad which they achieved with the loss of 6 wickets. Ali Shan scored 58 runs and was not out. Mushtaq Kalhoro took 5 wickets for 70 runs. Thus he took 10 wickets for 134 runs in the match.

Earlier, the Larkana team was bowled out for 277 runs in the second innings. Shahzad Gul and Shahid Ali took four wickets each. Lahore Whites were given a target of 79 runs for the loss of 3 wickets to win against Abbottabad at Murghazar Cricket Ground Islamabad. Earlier, the Abbottabad team could score 131 runs in the second innings.

At Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi team was bowled out for 324 runs in their first innings in response to Bahawalpur’s 233 runs. After Aqib Shah, Taimur Khan and Shadab Khan, Owais Anwar also scored a half century. Mehran Sanul took four wickets.

Bahawalpur scored 258 runs for 4 wickets in the second innings. Abid Ali scored 100 runs. This is his 30th century in first-class cricket. Ali Hamza Wasim scored 80 runs. They both added 183 runs for the first wicket partnership.

Karachi Whites scored 151 runs for 6 wickets in the second innings against Azad Jammu Kashmir at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Abbottabad. The overall lead of Karachi Whites is 219 runs.

Earlier, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir team was bowled out for 288 runs in the first innings. Qazi Arbaqan and Owais Akram scored half-centuries. Aftab Ibrahim and Saqib Khan took four wickets each.

At Ashfaq Cricket Ground in Charsadda, Peshawar’s team was bowled out for 251 runs in their first innings in response to Multan’s 292 runs. Moaz Sadaqat played an innings of 114 runs. Muhammad Ismail took 5 wickets.

Multan scored 31 runs without loss in the second innings. In reply to Quetta’s 187 runs, the FATA team was bowled out for 343 runs in their first innings at Haripur Railway Cricket Ground. Muhammad Farooq 73, Muhammad Sarwar 58 and Shahid Aziz were outstanding with 58 runs. Muhammad Idris and Jalat Khan got four wickets each. Quetta scored 66 runs for 2 wickets in the second innings.
