Karachi: A judicial magistrate on Thursday sent on five-day police remand a man who was arrested in connection with the murder of his wife in the name of honour in Shah Latif Town.
The investigation officer (IO) produced Ali Hasan Sheikh before the judicial magistrate Malir and sought his two-week physical remand in police custody for interrogation.
The IO stated that the suspect had murdered his 43-year-old wife Parveen with a hammer and knife and was required to be interrogated about the crime.
The magistrate handed over the suspect to the police on five-day police remand with a direction to the investigation officer to produce him on the completion of his remand.
An FIR has been lodged at the Shah Latif Town police station under the sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 311 (Ta'zir after waiver or compounding of right of qisas in qatl-i-amd) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim's brother.
