Karachi: The Karachi Water Sewerage Corporation’s (KWSC) chief operating officer (CEO), Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, represented Pakistan at the prestigious 17th five-day Small Water and Wastewater Systems Conference and 9th Resource-Oriented Sanitation Conference, held in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, from November 10 to 14.
According to a press statement from the KWSC, his participation underscored the KWSC’s commitment to sustainable water solutions and effective management strategies.
During his address on 'Water and Leadership: Improving Lives through Inclusive and Effective Management', Ahmed highlighted the KWSC's achievements in delivering innovative, sustainable water services to Karachi.
He also emphasised the KWSC’s focus on sustainable solutions, noting how the corporation has become a recognized model of water management resilience despite Karachi’s ongoing water and sewerage challenges.
Engaging with global leaders, Ahmed discussed best practices that have contributed to the corporation’s growing international standing.
Ahmed’s role as a global leader in water management has brought honour to the KWSC and enhanced Pakistan’s international reputation. His representation of Pakistan at the conference is seen as a great honour for the nation, showcasing Pakistan’s proactive role in addressing water security and advancing global water management solutions.
