Islamabad, Karachi Blues record big wins

LAHORE: Karachi Blues defeated Dera Murad Jamali by an innings and 56 runs on the second day of their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy cricket tournament’s fourth round match on Thursday while Islamabad beat Hyderabad by an innings and 2 runs.

The highlights of these matches were brilliant bowling spells of Mohammad Musa and Mohammad Hamza who finished with 12 and 10 wickets, respectively. The team of Dera Murad Jamali, which was dismissed for 50 runs in the first innings at the Mirpur Cricket Stadium, Mirpur, was dismissed for 51 runs in the second innings. Aftab Khan and Muhammad Hamza took three wickets each. Muhammad Hamza dismissed a total of 10 players in the match. Earlier, Karachi Blues scored 157 runs in their first innings.

At the Diamond Cricket Ground, Islamabad, the Hyderabad team, which was bowled out for 91 runs in the first innings against Islamabad, was bowled out for 99 runs in the second innings. Muhammad Musa bowled brilliantly and took 7 wickets for 28 runs. He took a total of 12 wickets for 60 runs.

Larkana scored 238 runs for 8 wickets in the second innings against Faisalabad at National Ground Islamabad. Umar Waheed played an innings of 105 runs. Shahid Ali took four wickets. Earlier, Faisalabad scored 196 runs in their first innings. Mushtaq Ahmed took 5 wickets for 64 runs.

Lahore Whites scored 227 runs in the first innings in response to Abbottabad’s 174 runs at Marghazar Cricket Ground Islamabad. Ahmed Daniyal scored 56 runs and Saad Naseem scored 50 runs. Abbottabad scored 125 runs for 8 wickets in the second innings.

Rawalpindi scored 306 for 9 in their first innings in response to Bahawalpur’s 233 at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi. Aqib Shah scored 62, Taimur Khan 59 and Shadab Khan 54 runs. Mehran Sanul took four wickets. Karachi Whites were bowled out for 356 runs in the first innings against Azad Jammu Kashmir at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Abbottabad. Rameez Aziz scored 107 runs with the help of 14 fours and a six. Taj Wali took four wickets. Azad Jammu Kashmir scored 231 runs for 6 wickets in the first innings. Qazi Arbaqan scored 61 runs.

At Ashfaq Cricket Ground, Charsadda, Multan team was bowled out for 292 runs against Peshawar in the first innings. Imam-ul-Haq scored 60 runs and Mohammad Basit scored 54 runs. Aamir Khan took 6 wickets. Peshawar had scored 70 runs for 4 wickets in the first innings at the end of play. The Quetta team was bowled out for 187 runs in the first innings against FATA at Railway Cricket Ground, Haripur. Muhammad Ibrahim scored 48 runs. Arshadullah took four wickets. FATA scored 152 runs for 3 wickets in the first innings. Mohammad Farooq scored 73 runs.

In Gohati Cricket Stadium, Swabi, Lahore Blues declared the first innings against Sialkot after reaching 439/7. Muhammad Saleem scored 117 runs and Umar Sadiq played an innings of 115 runs. Qasim Akram scored 101 runs not out.
