ISLAMABAD: Taliban government has appointed Ikramuddin Kamil as its consul in the diplomatic mission of Mumbai in India. This is the first time that a consular has been posted in the Afghan mission of India.
India is continuously increasing its contacts and meetings with the Taliban and now this important development has been seen in this regard.
Ikramuddin Kamil studied in India for seven years on a scholarship provided by the Indian government and will now work as a diplomat at the Mumbai consulate, rendering services for Afghans. It should be remembered that a few days ago, an Indian delegation visited Kabul and met the interim Defence Minister of the Taliban government, Mullah Muhammad Yaqoob, and also encouraged business groups in Afghanistan to use the Chabahar port.
