NANKANA SAHIB: The influx of Sikh Yatrees continues in the city as they arrive to participate in a three-day festivities of the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
On Wednesday, a 28-member group of American Sikh Yatrees led by Dr Jugmohan Singh arrived in the city. DC Tasleem Akhtar Rao extended a warm welcome to the group at Gurdwara Janamasthan and assured that all arrangements have been made for the visiting Yatrees. A special train carrying over a thousand Yatrees arrived in the city and was welcomed by the DC.
Meanwhile, the city and its outskirts have been adorned with festive illuminations, creating a celebratory atmosphere. DPO Nadeem Abbas said foolproof security arrangements had been completed for Baba Guru Nanak’s birthday festivities, which will be held from 14th to 16th November at Gurdwara Janamasthan. He said luggage scanners, walkthrough gates and CCTV cameras had been installed at Gurdwara Janamasthan. He said police pickets had been established in and around the city.
